The Worse Customer Service Company - Cable/Internet Equipment

If they handed out awards for the worse customer service, Time Warner Cable would be the winner. They continue to argue with me about an "unreturned modem". They began to charge me for this "unreturned modem" in August 2012 even though I had a receipt for a returned modem dated 8/1/2012 WHICH I PROVIDED COPIES OF IN AUGUST, SEPTEMBER, NOVEMBER AND NOW FEBRUARY. They even sent me a collection notice two days after the bill for the unreturned modem was due. I have paid a prorated amount for the month of August prior to getting the bill for this darn modem. They sent an email in September stating I would have my refund within 6 to 8 weeks. After numerous inquiries, I was told in November that I would have my refund within 5 to 7 days. Still no refund, although one of their reps says they are expediting it, but still leaving an extremely bitter taste because she just took this modem off the books. Never acknowledging any wrong doing on their part. Whenever I would call or chat to them online, they would simply tell me that I have an unreturned modem. Why the heck would I have a receipt for an returned modem. It is mostly like due to their failure to update their records after a tech had come to fix modem about 6 or 7 months prior to returning the one he left me. He did not give me any records and now they claim that they cannot retrieve their service records, probably because the tech did not do one. But somehow the customer is to blame. Many other people tell me of their issues with TWC, my own father paid for a modem out of his own pocket and then they told him he had to return it. Since he could not find the receipt, he paid them. Today as we visited, he received several calls from Time Warner Cable confirming his service visit. BUT HE DOES NOT HAVE TIME WARNER CABLE-TWC DOES NOT PROVIDE SERVICE WHERE IS LIVES. He called them to let them know this and they still have called him about a service visit.
