Unfair Contract


I am a customer of Time Warner Cable Business Class.

When we purchased the services of Time Warner Cable, the sale person suggested to sign on 2 year contract because the two year contract can give us better promotional disscount. However, we were not sure that we can keep the contract for 2 years or not because we just started business a year ago, and had paln to move to other town soon. Therefore, we asked the sales person that what is we move to other town where Time Warner Cable doesn't provide the services? Do we need to pay any fees for early termination? Then, the sales person said.."No, if you move to other place where we don't provide our services, you won't pay the fees for breaking the contract." So, there was no reason to not signing on the two years contract. Now, we need to move our office to other town, and we still have one year left to end the contract, so we contacted Time Warner Cable to request that move the service to the new place where we will be, then they said the area is out of their foot print, so they can not provide their service. Therefore, we requested to stop the service for us because we need to move to other town, then they said we need to pay the remaning balance for the year and that is about $1,000 dollars. Do we have to stay the same place to keep the contract for another year? What kind of contract is like that? They said, you signed on the contract, so it's your responsibilities".....OK, what I don't understand is that there is no mention about the details, so how could we know that? and it's very different from what the sales person said..

I asked them to highlight the part of the contract where it mentions about the detaills, but I have not received any response from them. We tried to contact the sale person several times, but her cell phon is disconnected, and she is not working for Time Warner Calbe any more...So, we tried to contact her supervisor, and left several voice messages, but never got a response.. Time Warner Cable sucks..
